A great site to share info and ask questions about your Dog is the Dog Forums Message Board, a meeting place for dog lovers. They have a pretty active forum with alot of great information on Training, Grooming, Health Questions and Food discussions.
There is a great thread on Puppies chewing up things that they are not supposed to, like puppies tend to do. Great suggestions by the readers included crating the puppy or a safe “baby-proof” type laundry room, exercising the puppy more to wear him out and get him used to what sort of activities are good for him and a spray that will deter the dog from chewing. The spray comes in many yucky flavors that dogs hate. It is not harrmful to the dog or any furniture.
“Also try teaching your dog to “leave it”. To do that hold one treat in each hand but only let her see one. When she tries to sniff it or eat say “o-o” and imidietly when she take her attention away from the treat give her the treat in th OTHER hand and say take it. When your dog takes her attention away from the treat when you say “oh o” slowly start ading in leave it instead on Oh-o. So when she or he chews up his furniture just say leave it and it works like a charm.”
